Webinar – The Age of Deep Fake: Cyber Bullying and Online Privacy 7.11.24

The CCLP hosted the first event of the 2024-2025 Academic Year – an online event “The Age of Deep Fake: Cyber Bullying and Online Privacy.”

During the webinar, we discussed the emerging phenomenon of deep fake technologies (Deep Fake) both on the technological and the legal level. In an era where the boundaries of reality and virtuality are blurred, the importance of in-depth knowledge of the technological, legal, ethical and social challenges associated with the use of these advanced technologies.

Following Opening Remarks of new CCLP Director, Prof. Irit Hadar, there was a review by Mr. Alik Katsav from Moked 105 and Ms. Naama Avni from the National Cyber ​​Unit in which they presented the issue of deepfakes and the risks.

Prof. Tal Zarsky, Dean of the Faculty of Law, moderated a panel on deepfake, bullying and privacy in which Abeer Baker from the Faculty of Law, Dr. Asaf Wiener from the Israel Internet Association, and Adv. Liron Hopfeld from the Privacy Protection Authority.

Mr. Michael Matias, CEO of Clarity gave a lecture on deepfake and coping with it.

The event was moderated by Prof. Adi Akavia, Head of the Sub-Center for Biometric Research. Ms. Naama Ben-Zvi from the Israeli National Cyber ​​Directorate delivered closing remarks.
