Dr Evgeni Moyakine is an Assistant Professor at the Section IT Law of the Department of Transboundary Legal Studies of the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, and a member of the Security, Technology & e-Privacy (STeP) Research Group of the same university. At the end of 2018, he was appointed with the rank of Research Fellow of the Center for Cyber Law & Policy (CCLP) of the University of Haifa, Israel, for a period of three academic years.
Currently, Evgeni acts as a coordinator and lecturer in various courses and seminars at the University of Groningen, including “Safety & Security in Digital Society” and “Telecommunications Law”, supervises students with their theses and conducts legal research. Separately and in cooperation with other researchers, he published a variety of articles and reports, took part in diverse conferences and other academic and non-academic events related to his research field and was actively involved in such international research projects as SIIP (www.siip.eu) and INGRESS (www.ingress-project.eu) funded by the European Commission.
Evgeni’s research interests include international law, European law, technology law, IT law, information policy, privacy, data protection, surveillance, biometrics and information security.
