Mr. Yaron Connelly

Yaron ConnellyYaron Connelly is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Haifa (supervisors: Prof. Ilan Talmud, Department of Sociology, and Dr. Nehama Lewis, Department of Communication). His research examines e-health literacy among the Israeli public, and investigates the role of perceptual and motivational aspects in shaping our ability to utilize online health information for informed health decisions. In parallel to his studies at the university, Yaron is a researcher at The Gertner Institute for Epidemiology and Health Policy Research since 2013. His research examines psychosocial aspects of health and medicine, health policy and analysis of the offline and online discourse between the public and the decision-makers in the Israeli health system.

Yaron has led a study examining the relationship between the public and the health system during the polio vaccination campaign of 2013. In 2016, Yaron joined the research team of The Israeli Center of Emerging Technologies in Hospitals, examining contemporary medicolegal and ethical challenges related to Israeli healthcare. Additionally, he is interested in crypto-technology applications for health-related services.
